The Associated Press is reporting that Judge Pamela Campbell denied Gawker Media’s request for a new trial in the Hulk Hogan sex tape lawsuit. As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, both Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media were back in court to address several things today, including Gawker’s request for a new trial. The judge also said she would not reduce the $140 million jury verdict.
Also, Forbes is reporting that PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel is funding Hogan’s legal battle with Gawker. For those unaware, Gawker Media tried to out Thiel’s sexual preference before he had done so publicly. With that being said, Thiel has a long history with Gawker Media and it’s safe to say he’s not a fan.
