Lanny Poffo Blasts Bam Bam Bigelow As “The Least Talented Wrestler” To Ever Be Pushed

The late Bam Bam Bigelow was the least talented wrestler to ever get a significant push, Lanny Poffo has claimed.

Recognizable for his large frame and flame tattoo that spanned most of his bald head, Bigelow was a force to be reckoned with in multiple promotions.

Bigelow is best known for his work in NJPW, WWF, WCW, and ECW, and is a one-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

Appearing on the Café de Rene podcast, Poffo, known to wrestling fans as ‘The Genius’ gave his less than favorable view of Bigelow. He said,

“I didn’t like Bam Bam whatsoever. I thought he was the least talented wrestler ever to get a push. Boy, did it go to his head. But I will give him credit for one thing. I understand in the last years of his life, some building caught on fire and he went into the building and saved two kids, so good for him.”

Bigelow died in January 2007 of an overdose at the age of 45.

Despite Poffo’s view, Bigelow is regarded by many as one of the best big men in wrestling, and arguably the most agile.

In Bret Hart’s book ‘Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling,’ the Canadian legend called Bigelow “possibly the best working big man in the business.”
