Mercedes Martinez has been out of action since the summer, but she is now medically cleared to return. Tony Khan revealed during Thursday’s Full Gear media call that the ROH Women’s World Champion was cleared yesterday to compete. She has been out of action with an undisclosed injury since July 24th.
AEW’s President went on to note that Martinez was eager to compete on the next episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. She is looking to “get warmed up” ahead of ROH’s next pay-per-view event, which is Final Battle, taking place on December 10th. Martinez is looking forward to defending her championship at that show.
Martinez’ last title defense was at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event on July 23rd, where she defeated Serena Deeb to retain the belt. The following day, she worked a match against Dita VonStarr at NEW Zero Fear, and that was her last match to date.
