Should he win the United States Championship in the Elimination Chamber match on Saturday night, Montez Ford wants to give the first title shot to his tag team partner, Angelo Dawkins.
Ford was speaking with the Bleav in Pro Wrestling Podcast when he talked about competing in the upcoming title match. He said, “This week when I was talking to him, I told him, I said, ‘Look, man, [I’m] going ham in the Chamber, and I’m gonna go so ham to the point I have that much utmost confidence in ability in myself that I will walk out as champion.’ I said, ‘It’s always about us.’ So, I said, ‘Since it’s always about us, when I win the Elimination Chamber, you’ll be the first person [to get a title shot].'”
Ford defeated Elias to earn a spot in the Elimination Chamber. He will compete against champion Austin Theory, Bronson Reed, Johnny Gargano, Damian Priest, and Seth Rollins. Elimination Chamber 2023 airs live from the Bell Centre in Montreal at 8:00 PM Eastern on Saturday, February 18th.
