It’s been well documented that Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Nikki Cross were all pulled from the WWE Clash of Champions event and WWE claimed that the reason for this was due to them not being medically cleared.
As a result, this caused the women’s tag team title match to be pulled in addition to Cross being replaced by Asuka to face SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, the belief is that the women do not have COVID but simply came into contact with people who did. Dave Meltzer just noted that “it might be all three” that had contact, but for sure one or two. He also noted that “at least two of the three” are healthy.
WWE knew they would have to make changes at least as early as Friday. Despite this, they continued to promote the Bayley vs. Cross match. They may have also known about the tag title match as well by then.
