According to a report by Fightful Select, NJPW had the opportunity to sign key free agents this year but passed on those big names instead.
While New Japan Pro Wrestling did bring back KENTA and also signed Jeff Cobb, any other major name that had been released by WWE or AEW were not picked up by the company. NJPW did say they were open to working with “several” of these marquee talents in the future.
