As we reported this morning, WWE is bringing back the old WCW pay-per-view (PPV) name Starrcade for a WWE Live Event in Greensboro, North Carolina this November during Thanksgiving weekend. The SmackDown Live-heavy event features two Steel Cage main event title matches and a possible appearance from WWE Monday Night RAW stars The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy).
Per a report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, the WWE’s decision to bring back the Starrcade event was purely to counter ticket sells from a legends event that is taking place in the area the same weekend. The event is not expected to air on the WWE Network as a special event.
