Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Global Force Wrestling has reached an agreement with Pop TV to keep airing Impact Wrestling throughout 2018. Their deal was going to expire at the end of this year.
Meltzer noted that the new deal is the same as the contract that they currently have, and that also means that GFW was unable to get anything better out of it. The deal will see GFW and Pop TV split ad revenue, which means that Pop doesn’t pay GFW for its rights fees.
Thus, GFW doesn’t make a ton of money from it. GFW’s majority revenue comes from foreign markets, specifically the United Kingdom and India.
