As previously reported here on eWn, Cody and Brandi Rhodes have officially left AEW as Cody’s deal had expired in December and the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
A report from TMZ earlier today noted that there was a fallout between Cody and Tony Khan recently as Khan’s visibility within the company grew. Additionally, Rhodes wanted a “big money” contract and they were never able to agree on that number.
It’s been speculated that both Brandi and Cody will be headed to WWE and that’s the expectation according to WrestleVotes on Twitter:
“Spoke to a source just now that fully anticipates WWE coming to an agreement with Cody Rhodes. Unbelievable,” the account wrote.
There have been other reports that have noted the two sides have already been in contact with each other regarding a potential return to WWE.
