Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a directive in WWE is to start hiring “shorter referees.”
The reason for this is that it can be “another way to make talent look taller”.
WWE has already made it known that they are looking to sign bigger developmental talent for WWE NXT 2.0 instead of signing wrestlers from the independent wrestling scene who are good workers. WWE wants to make them ‘larger than life’ stars.
