After interest was shown from both WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring Of Honor (ROH) has re-signed announcer Ian Riccaboni, per a report from PWTorch. Riccaboni signed a deal with ROH in April of last year, which he could’ve opted out of to negotiate with other promotions like AEW and WWE, who were showing interest in Riccaboni.
Despite Riccaboni always preferring to stay with ROH, the promotion still aggressively pursued re-signing him. Riccaboni became ROH’s lead announcer after Kevin Kelly departed full-time for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). Riccaboni confirmed that he will be staying with ROH on Twitter:
“.@ringofhonor means the world to me; the wrestlers, the crew, and the fans. We’re a family. I approached our office and producers about staying. They shared the same sentiment. I am excited to announce that I signed a mult-year deal to stay with ROH. Happy wrestling, indeed!”
