According to a report from PWInsider, there were rumors going around that WWE was planning on having CM Punk return to take on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 36. However, the report suggests those rumors are not true. There have not been discussions between Punk and WWE about a match, let alone even an appearance at WrestleMania 36.
As we’ve noted several times before, Punk’s current gig on WWE Backstage is through a contract with FOX, not WWE, therefore he’s not an employee of the promotion. Rollins did publicly campaign for the match, but Punk has not discussed the matter with WWE.
