It looks like WWE Superstar Sami Zayn is ready to make his return to the ring. Kevin Owens finally made his return to SmackDown Live last night (Tues. February 26, 2019). Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that his best-friend, Zayn, is ready to do the same.
Zayn underwent double shoulder surgery last summer. After months of rehabilitation, Zayn is simply waiting on WWE to work him back into storylines. As of this writing, it remains unclear whether or not he’ll be returning as a babyface or heel. It’s also unknown which brand he’ll return to. Speaking on the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast recently, Zayn admitted that he isn’t in a rush to get back into the ring:
“Maybe I’m overstating my lack of desire to return,” Zayn prefaced. “I do miss performing, but like [Jericho] said, I’ve been doing this a super long time. We’re on the road a lot. [Jericho] know[s] how it is. I just know that when I’ll be back, I’ll probably enjoy it.
“But I’m not sitting there itching and clawing [to return]. And I don’t know that my employer will want to hear that, like, ‘does this guy not care?’ But, no, I’m not even close [to being cleared to return]. I need a couple more months!”
