Mercedes Varnado, aka Sasha Banks, is expected to make her New Japan Pro Wrestling debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 from the Tokyo Dome.
Banks negotiated her WWE release months ago but had to wait until 2023 for the non-compete clause to expire.
Banks posted a cryptic tweet about taking a risk on something she loves on Sunday morning and posted the following in the caption:
“When you take a risk doing what you love, that’s exciting.”
This past week, Banks filed to trademark the name Moné Banks, which appears to be her new ring name.
