UPDATE: Sean “X-Pac” Waltman has
now weighed in on the debate of the six-sided ring versus the four-sided one.
You can read his tweets on the subject below.
The 6 sided ring might look special, but it’s
actually way more dangerous. The angle of the ropes in the corners isn’t
90 degrees.

Making 6 sided ring a bitch to climb the ropes and stand
up with the same balance.

Dixie get your head out of your ass. 6 sided or 4 sided
rings? How about good or bad wrestling show? And get off of TV like your ppl
said.

ORIGINAL: EC3 and Austin Aries
have come out against the six-sided ring making a return in TNA. As previously
reported, TNA is holding a vote on ImpactWrestling.com whether to permanently
institute the six-sided ring again starting with next week’s Impact tapings in
New York. The two TNA wrestlers posted the following on Twitter today opposing
it:
This is
why democracy doesn’t work.
You people should not have
a voice when it comes to my well-being and safety.

You want a 6-sided ring once a year?
Fine, I can compromise. Call it
“Six-Sided-Fest” or something.
But wrestling
belongs in #4sides.

So the people who don’t wrestle are letting people
who don’t wrestle decide what I have to wrestle in? Great idea. My body,
my vote. #4sides

What’s wrong with wrestling? Letting people
who’ve never done it, and never put their bodies on the line, run the
show. #DoesntWork

Please understand, I DO think the fans voices should be
heard, and I’m all for an interactive experience, BUT I’m not
sure…
— Austin Healy Aries (@AustinAries) June 18,

…this is the appropriate place for it, nor do I feel the
potential risk outweighs the potential benefit for the
wrestlers.

For those curious, I find #6sides
to be far less forgiving on the body and harder to maneuver around, especially
on the top rope. #4sides

Guess I accomplished stirring up some debate on #4sides
or #6sides.
We all have opinions, and I shared mine from a different
perspective.
— Austin Healy Aries (@AustinAries) June 18,

Please don’t misinterpret #6sides
as unsafe or dangerous. Decision makers at @IMPACTWRESTLING would
never put us in that position. #4sides
