Settlement Reached In Trial Between Jeff Jarrett & Anthem Media

WWE Hall of Famer “Double J” Jeff Jarrett has settled his lawsuit against Impact Wrestling’s (formerly TNA) parent company, Anthem Media, over GFW Amped footage. The two sides have reached a settlement in a motion filed this past Friday.

Jeff Jarrett filed the lawsuit back in August 2018, with Jarrett accusing Anthem of infringing on trademark rights regarding Global Force Wrestling (GFW), Jarrett’s own likeness and other related issues. The merger between GFW and Anthem Media fell apart back in 2017 when the two sides attempted to combine GFW with Impact Wrestling and everything just fell apart, resulting in Jarrett being fired.

Over the last three years, Anthem Media had completely wiped out all of the GFW Amped master tapes in order to free up storage space. At the beginning of July 2020, both sides entered a two week trial where a mistrial was ultimately declared due to errors found by lawyers on both sides.

The following motion was filed on Friday, effectively ending the suit between Jarrett and Anthem Media:

“If the terms of the settlement are met, and unless any Party objects, they will submit a joint request for dismissal of the claims and counterclaims in the case by no later than October 1, 2022.”
