Prior to Saturday’s NJPW Battle in the Valley pay-per-view event, Mercedes Mone was asked about which STARDOM wrestlers she’d like to face. One of the names Mone mentioned was AZM, who has wrestled with the promotion since 2013. Now it appears that the groundwork for the matchup between the two champions has been laid.
AZM challenged Mone to an IWGP Women’s Title match at a recent STARDOM press conference. Mone accepted AZM’s challenge via Twitter, setting up a champion vs. champion clash. Mone came away with the IWGP Women’s belt after defeating KAIRI at Battle in the Valley. AZM is currently in her second reign as the company’s High Speed Champion.
