As many of you know by now, Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett, and Murphy were all released from WWE earlier today. According to a report from Fightful, Riott’s release was the one that seemed to ‘shake’ people the most. According to sources, Riott was ‘universally popular’ backstage and was often praised for how hard she worked.
The same can be said for Murphy, who was known to be easy to work with and ‘generally receptive to creative.’ With that being said, he was ‘not in the creative forecast’ for WWE. Several pitches were made several months ago to have Murphy team with Wesley Blake, but those pitches were shut down.
