The Boston Globe recently published an editorial article regarding former WWE Superstar Chris Nowinski and the Sports Legacy Institute’s ties to the WWE. According to the article, Nowinski’s company has accepted $2.7 million from WWE and are now “selling out” former WWE Superstars including Rene “Renee Dupree” Goguen. The article alleges that the two sides have formed a “financial bond.”
Also, the writer of the scathing article questions why no other former pro wrestlers’ brains have been donated for CTE research since 2013. The article seems to hint that Nowinski is “backing off of WWE” due to their relationship and the money involved.
