AEW President Tony Khan appeared on the debut edition of AEW Dark: Elevation and booked a match for this Wednesday’s Dynamite. Khan has officially signed a match between AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Matt Sydal in a non-title bout. If Sydal wins, he will get an automatic World Championship match against Omega. This is Khan’s first on-screen appearance as an authority figure on AEW television.
Khan had previously appeared on Impact Wrestling as part of AEW’s crossover with them. Khan told the audience he didn’t want to appear on camera, but said Omega made him do it because Kenny has been avoiding giving Sydal a match despite promising him one.
