According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon became frustrated with former Smackdown Live commentator Mauro Ranallo’s style and him “being himself” was it for McMahon. According to the report, when Tom Phillips was added to the SD Live commentary team, that was the Chairman’s first sign that he became frustrated with Ranallo.
The report also noted that Mauro Ranallo was seen as “weird” and made the “butt of jokes” backstage. Also, that “the production room was filled with a lot of people who were emotionally still in high school.”
