Recently, a new team consisting of Asuka and Kairi Sane has arrived on Smackdown Live. The team was introduced by former Smackdown Live General Manager, Paige.

On this week’s edition of Smackdown Live, Paige announced them as the “Kabuki Warriors”.
Kabuki is a Classical Japanese dance-drama sometimes translated as “the art of singing and dancing”. In English it is often translated as “strange things” or “the crazy ones”, and referred to the style of dress worn by gangs of samurai.
While many would assume the team’s name was a WWE creative decision, it wasn’t completely. In a response on Twitter, Paige stated it was actually the girls who came up with the name.
However, WWE did tweak the name a bit to “The Kabuki Warriors” as the duo wanted to be called “The Kabuki Girls.”
