Wild Boar participated in a Dog Collar match with Eddie Dennis in WWE NXT UK earlier this year, and he spoke about the experience recently.
Opening up to Ringsiders Wrestling, Boar reflected on the bout with Dennis from May 19th, in which he would walk away the victor. However, no one really wins in a dog collar match, as Wild Boar was quick to point out. He said,
“Those chains suck. They suck. You can’t work with a chain. They do what they want. You prepare for it by just going. The chain always wins.”
He continued: “One thing you don’t think about is, you get hit with a chain and you’re going to hit someone with a chain. That’s a given. What you don’t think about is when you fall over, you fall on your back, and the chain goes (flying) and then the chain is coming right down on you. You get thrown, land on the mat, but you don’t land on the mat, the chain hits the mat first, so you land on the chain. You also don’t think about getting tied up in the chain when you’re trying to move or pull.”
The real-life Michael Hitchman was among the spate of NXT UK performers who were released in August. Rumors persist that NXT UK is shuttering permanently to make room for NXT Europe.
