UPDATE: With WWE SmackDown going with a retro theme tonight, there has been some speculation about whether the “fist” set will be returning. According to a report from Fightful, WWE is not planning to bring the original stage back. As of earlier this afternoon, the fist stage was not set up inside the ThunderDome and it obviously takes time to put it together so you won’t be seeing it tonight.
ORIGINAL: Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown will have a special throwback theme.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the reason for the retro theme is because it is likely a FOX directive as the network will be airing a NASCAR race with a similar theme this Sunday.
It should be noted that this NASCAR race at Darlington always has a throwback theme.
A Wrestlemania rematch between Seth Rollins and Cesaro is the only match to be announced for this show.
