The Pitch Black match at the WWE Royal Rumble has been discussed for a while now.
WrestlingNews.co was the first to report the match had been pitched with the belief that it would be used for Bray Wyatt in his first bout since making a return to WWE.
A new Mountain Dew advertisement confirmed the Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble. The video shows a WWE arena going black before a text appears that says “When It’s The Pitch Black Match,” later touting it as “Anything Can Happen.”
The footage also features someone walking with bright light emerging from behind, appearing to be Edge.
WWE has also discussed doing a Hell in a Cell match at the event, potentially between ‘Demon’ Finn Balor and ‘Brood’ Edge.
