WWE RAW (4/15/2024)

Rhea Ripley enters with an arm in a sling. She does not look happy. Ripley says after the attack last week by Liv Morgan, she has been told she will be stuck on the bench for a few months. She has also been told she needs to vacate the Women’s World Championship. The fans don’t like it. They chant “bulls***”. Rhea says this means everything to her and it is painful to let it go. And all of this is because of Liv’s stupid revenge tour. She is a coward for blindsiding her.

This is a warning to whoever wins her Women’s World Championship. When she comes back, she is coming back for blood. She is going to stay gone because if she was to stay around, Montreal would have to lock her up. Liv Morgan enters to gloat with a security team holding her back. Some of them have to hold Ripley back, too. Rhea headbutts one of the security guards in frustration.

Backstage, Judgment Day comfort her. Damian Priest knows when she comes back she will make Liv pay. They love her. Mami tells them to keep on being the Judgment Day. And take care of Dominik for her.

#1. Sheamus vs. Ivar – Winner: Sheamus

Triple H is here. There is something covered up on a pedestal in the ring. It is hard to believe it was 8 days ago that we were in the midst of the biggest WrestleMania of all time, and a whole new era started. Adam Pearce says a new era started for the tag team division. We walked in with one set of champions, and we walked out with two. Pearce introduces The Awesome Truth. The crowd gives them an ovation. Triple H congratulates them on winning one of the biggest tag team matches in history. From a personal perspective, seeing R-Truth have that WrestleMania moment, to quote The Miz, was awesome. If they are going to represent RAW in the new era, they will now be called the World Tag Team Champions.

Triple H unveils the new World Tag Team Championships, and R-Truth loses it. He has never seen a magic trick like that before. The Miz tells him Triple H is not a magician. R-Truth doesn’t trust magicians, so what else is he hiding from him? He can’t be Triple H, he must be Tommaso Ciampa. The Miz tries one last thing to get through to him. He tells R-Truth what is happening in French, and he immediately understands. Triple H hands them the belts and leaves. Adam Pearce asks why they got the boss to leave, but R-Truth didn’t see him out here. Pearce announces there will be a triple threat tag team match to decide the #1 contenders right now.

#2. [World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders] DIY vs. The New Day vs. Creed Brothers – Winners: DIY

#3. Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri vs. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell – Winners: LeRae & Hartwell

Finn Balor questions why Judgment Day aren’t going after the tag team titles. Priest tells him he needs to focus on Jey Uso tonight, and then he will bring the pain at Backlash. Balor accepts this and is ready to handle business.

#4. Andrade vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ JD McDonagh) – Winner: Andrade

JD McDonagh blindsides Andrade, and Ricochet makes the save.

#5. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Piper Niven & Chelsea Green – Winners: Niven & Green

Cody Rhodes makes his entrance. The Montreal crowd gives him a warm reception. When he can finally speak, he says he is happy to be here, despite being a SmackDown superstar. We cannot reflect on WrestleMania XL forever, when we are heading to Backlash in France to defend his title against either LA Knight or AJ Styles. Yet, we can reflect slightly on the man who said he would be his shield. He thanks Seth Rollins.

Cody talks about The Rock, who definitely has more than one match left in him. And while he says he will make him bleed, Cody will ensure he bleeds with him. There are more questions than answers to the current Bloodline situation, so he wants to introduce a good friend of his called Jey Uso. He thanks Jey for helping him to finish the story at WrestleMania. He would love to have his back like he had his. Jey doesn’t need him, and Cody respects that. And one last thing… until they yeet again. Yeet!

Backstage, Nia Jax says she doesn’t see anyone who can stop her from becoming Women’s World Champion. There are two types of people in this world. Those who fear Nia Jax, and those who will fear Nia Jax. The title is hers.

Before the next contest, Balor gets the jump on Jey Uso, so he begins their match with an advantage.

#6. Finn Balor vs. Jey Uso – Winner: Jey Uso

Damian Priest shows up to remind Jey Uso who the World Heavyweight Champion is. The rest of Judgment Day blindside Jey, but he somehow gets the better of them and exits through the WWE Universe. We follow Jey all the way backstage until he finds Sami Zayn. He says that he saw his first show in this very building many years ago. He makes his way through the fans to a thunderous reception.

Bronson Reed reminds Chad Gable that whoever wins this will face him at a later date.

#7. [Intercontinental Championship] Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable – Winner: Sami Zayn retains

Chad Gable holds up Sami Zayn’s arm out of respect for his victory. Zayn celebrates the win with his family… but then Gable surprises him with a German Suplex! He throws Sami around the ringside area and closes the show by tying him up in the turnbuckle with an anklelock.
