WWE RAW Results (9/11/2023)

Here are the results for the episode of WWE RAW airing on September 11, 2023. It is significant as the last WWE show before the company officially merges with the UFC under the Endeavor umbrella. It is the last to be led entirely by the McMahon family since the promotion debuted 70 years ago in 1953.

WWE RAW (9/11/2023)

Jey Uso opens the show. He says Main Event Jey Uso is now in your city. It feels good to be out of The Bloodline and on his own. And more importantly, it feels good to be here on Monday Night RAW. Kevin Owens’ music hits. He does not look thrilled. He thinks what Jey meant to say is that he is now on the Kevin Owens show.

Kevin has been where he is now. He knows what he’s going through. Owens says did a lot of bad things to a lot of good people, and he found himself needing to change. When he tried, it was hard and took a while to earn people’s trust and respect. He understands. But get this, Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle don’t like that he’s here, as do others who never talk to him, telling him they want to see him gone. Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn are giving him a chance and welcomed him with open arms. But that’s it.

If he wants to earn people’s respect, he has a long way to go gain his and prove to him that he isn’t the same scumbag as he was when he ran with The Bloodline. Out come the Judgment Day. Finn Balor says no one talks to Jey Uso like that. Why does he have to prove himself to Kevin Owens? He doesn’t have to prove himself to the Judgment Day, because they respect him.

Priest says Owens does not speak for the locker room, and especially not the Judgment Day. He understands that Jey Uso needs time to decide, and their door is always open. He just has to walk through it. Dominik refused many times, but look at him now. He’s the best version of himself. Dom tries to speak, but is drowned out by the crowd. Kevin Owens doesn’t care what they have to say, he just wants to fight. Jey Uso asks if he can partner with him against the Judgment Day. KO reluctantly agrees. A fight breaks out. After the break, we have a tag team match.

#1. Kevin Owens & Jey Uso vs. Judgment Day’s Finn Balor & Damian Priest (w/ Dominik Mysterio) –  WINNERS: Judgment Day

Jey Uso tries apologizing to Kevin Owens, but he’s heard enough already. Go dye his hair purple and join his new Bloodline in the Judgment Day.

Before the next match, WWE shared a short tribute to 9/11.

#2. The Miz vs. Akira Tozawa –  WINNER: The Miz

Imperium makes their way to the ring in expensive suits for Gunther’s Championship celebration. Gunther gets on a pedestal and enjoys a ton of pyro. He says to the surprise of nobody; he has rewritten history. Gunther is now officially the longest reigning and greatest Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion in history. But first, it means a lot to me.

He wants to share some words about the great legends who held this title before. They contributed absolutely nothing. He elevated this title to heights never seen before. As he understands, he is running out of competition. From now on, he is only competing against himself. Chad Gable enters by himself. He says last week they had a main event for the ages. What a championship fight that was. But here we are, a week later, and he is the one celebrating. Congratulations.

Gunther invites Gable in to the ring to say what he wants to his face. Chad says last week he saw the look on his face after the match and it told him everything he needs to know. Out of all the greats he has beat, no one has come as close to beating him as he did. The look on his face was not the only one he saw. He saw his famili’s faces and tears running down his daughter’s face.

Now he wouldn’t expect Gunther to understand what that does. What it has done is light a fire under him that won’t burn out til he puts this right. So understand this, he beat him once, and he’s going to beat him again. He doesn’t know when, where, or how, but he is gaining another opportunity. And this time, for himself, his career, and his family, he swears to God he is winning that championship. Gable swears to God his daughter is leaving with a smile on her face.

Gunther says he wants another opportunity? For what? To get another beating of his life? Using his children as bait to get some spotlight? He’s a fantastic athlete, but he is a disgusting, terrible father. Chad Gable attacks Gunther, but Imperium outnumbers him. Otis comes to Gable’s aid. Alpha Academy does its best, but again, Imperium have their way. Tommaso Ciampa shows up with a steel chair, which sends Imperium in to retreat.

Earlier today, Xavier Woods and Drew McIntyre have some crossed words, so they will face each other.

#3. Drew McIntyre vs. Xavier Woods –  WINNER: Drew McIntyre

Cody Rhodes asks what they want to talk about. He brings up Jey Uso, but is immediately cut off by Dominik Mysterio, who shows up with JD McDonagh. He wants to talk about how happy he is that he brought Jey Uso to RAW. They get in the ring and look to catch Cody by surprise with an attack, but Cody fends them both off.

Drew McIntyre gets in Jey Uso’s face backstage. They agree to a match next week.

#4. Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green (w/ Piper Niven) –  WINNER: Shayna Baszler

Piper Niven attacks Shayna after the bell. Zoey Stark comes to Baszler’s aid. She tells Piper to get out, and she does.

Shinsuke Nakamura continues the mind games with Seth Rollins. He takes us on a history lesson of the despicable things the champion has done. He is a deceiver and a liar. Seth brings shame to his family, and Shinsuke will take his title from him when he feels like it.

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. He accepts everything Shinsuke Nakamura claimed that he is. But, he is also a father. A fighter. The World Heavyweight Champion. He tried to be what others wanted him to be, but it didn’t work, so he became a Messiah. That didn’t work either, so he changed again and figured out what the fans always wanted him to be. Himself.

That’s why the fans love him, not because he is a good or bad guy, but because he is Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. But he didn’t come here to talk, he came here to fight. Management wants him to slow down, but he’s just not built that way. He’s a workhorse. He was born that way and he needs to run free. That’s why he called out Shinsuke Nakamura, but he said no. If he wants to play games, let’s play games. He lays the title down and says there is no better place to have a world title match than now.

We see Shinsuke Nakamura beating up Ricochet backstage. He already fought today because he thought Seth was not medically cleared. He will take his title though, when he is ready.

Finn Balor continues to persuade Jey Uso to join the Judgment Day.

#5. Chad Gable, Otis & Tomasso Ciampa (w/ Maxxine Dupri) vs. Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci –  WINNERS: Alpha Academy & Ciampa via submission

Tiffany Stratton is upset because she wants to know where Becky Lynch is. Speaking of which, Becky shows up to sign a contract for their NXT title match with Adam Pearce. They trade some insults before signing.

Note: The main event has a stipulation banning Dominik Mysterio from ringside.

#6. [Women’s World Championship] Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez –  WINNER: Rhea Ripley with an assist from a returning Nia Jax

To close the show, Nia Jax headbutted Ripley before taking her out with a Banzai Drop, showing her intention to become the next Women’s World Champion.
