8) “Which match are you most excited to see on this pay-per-view?”
MANGO: Thankfully, NXT mostly always delivers, and I think every match is going to be solid. However, I’ll give a slight edge to Gargano vs. Balor. Ciampa is injured and that may hurt that match. I know Lee/Dijakovic will be great, but I’ve seen it enough to not be more excited about that than others. Kai/Nox was done last week, to an extent, so that’s the same conundrum. Ripley and Belair are awesome, of course. I have faith in the tag title match stealing the show, too. But Gargano/Balor has a very, very minimal advantage.
BALAZ: Gargano versus Balor has most of my attention since that could easily steal the show with what we know of both competitors.
MITCHELL: Again, Portland is packed with great matches, but I feel Kai VS Nox in the Street Fight grudge match could surprise everyone just for how extreme it could get.
ABSLER: I am for sure most excited to see Adam Cole vs Tommaso Ciampa. This match has been a long time coming and the rich story behind it gives this bout the big fight feel that it needs. It should be a physical, emotional, wrestling match; one that I can’t wait to see play out.
JAY: All of them except Ripley versus Belair
BONNETTE: Rhea vs Bianca, for the match itself and to see how Charlotte gets involved
SCAFIDE: Broserweights vs Undisputed Era is my go-to match. But I’m also excited for Keith Lee and Dominik. These are two great matches I’m ready to sit my butt down and watch every moment of.
STAPLE: Gotta say I’m pretty giddy about this card, because there are tried and true combinations that can tear down the house, fresh matchups and potentially unpredictable outcomes. Lee and Dijakovic’s matches are never dull, but sign me up for Gargano/Balor. A dream match id never thought I would see. I truly believe if this lives up to the hype, it could challenge Takeover: New York as the best Takeover ever. The card looks that good.
COOK: I’ve seen Keith Lee & Dominik Dijakovic go crazy against each other before, but it’s yet to get old. Add in the fact that it’s on a TakeOver card & there’s a title on the line, and you know these guys are going to pull out all the stops to impress. Each match carries some level of intrigue to me, but Lee/Dijakovic is at the top of the list for me.
JEANNINE: Ripley v Belair. Both women are the embodiment of NXT and top talents.
DEMARCO: C’mon, man! That’s an impossible question! There are six amazing matches on this show. Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly always deliver. Adam Cole and Tommaso Ciampa are going to tell a hell of a story. Finn Balor vs Johnny Gargano? Can’t go wrong with Johnny Wrestling versus nearly anyone. Keith Lee and Dominick Dijakovic are proven money. That leaves Tegan Nox vs Dakota Kai, and that is actually my choice. Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox getting a one on one spot on a Takeover is huge for both, and they will feel pressured to deliver. I believe they will do just that, and I can’t wait to watch it happen.
