Predictions for SummerSlam 2015

With less than two weeks to the Biggest Party of the Summer, the WWE has pretty much stacked the for the four hour extravaganza SummerSlam. Unlike a lot of people whose editorials I have read, I believe that the WWE has amassed an incredible card for the 23rd of August Pay-Per-View.

We will go down the list of the Main Card matches, and I will give you my predictions of what the turnout will be.

1. John Cena vs Seth Rollins

Without an appearance from John Cena on RAW since his nose was broken three weeks ago, Seth Rollins was cocky enough to put out a challenge to the injured United States champion, daring him to show up to SummerSlam for a title-for-title, takes all championship match, one that would’ve been the Main Event on any other supercard, if it weren’t for the battle that takes place between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker.

Seth Rollins came out continually, week to week, mocking the injured Cena, daring him to make his appearance on RAW this coming Monday. Cena, on the other hand, appeared on last Tuesday’s episode of Tough Enough, where he accepted the challenge (with the help from another former WWE World Heavyweight champion, Daniel Bryan).

Seth Rollins, on SmackDown, appeared to be pleased at the fact that Cena had accepted, but was slightly annoyed that he had “Daniel Bryan answer for him”.

With all the lead up to the match, which I must admit was terribly written, the match has gathered at least some attention from the WWE Universe (although, personally, I wouldn’t mind if somebody like Kevin Owens or even Neville would’ve had a chance at the title).

With Seth Rollins barely retaining the title in an open challenge on RAW two weeks ago, and again last Monday, I truly believe that John Cena can walk away with both title belts. But will he?

MATCH RESULT: JOHN CENA DEF SETH ROLLINS by Submission

2. Kevin Owens vs Cesaro

Already having mentioned Mr. Owens, he has continually interrupted matches during his tenure in the WWE, as well as displaying his “Walk Owens Walk” work ethic. While the Swiss Superman has shown that he was quite able to take the challenge of the former NXT champion.

There has been, at least, a small lead up to this match, with Owens interrupting several of Cesaro’s US open challenge matches, and once he’s even went as far as bickering with both Cesaro and Randy Orton for who would face Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on RAW.

Not much else to say, I prefer that Cesaro wins, but, realistically, I think that Kevin Owens can pack it in for the long haul, and, even if Owens dosn’t win the match, I believe that he will win the war.

MATCH RESULT: KEVIN OWENS DEF CESARO by Pinfall

3. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper

With a “family war” on the brink of chaos this past Thursday on SmackDown, it really seems to me that the match at SummerSlam has been kind of overlooked by the Authority, and degraded to a lower card match.

Bray Wyatt has been antagonizing Roman Reigns ever since he cost Reigns the Money In The Bank contract at the MITB Pay-Per-View, and he has interrupted most of Reigns’ matches since then.

Now, with Dean Ambrose by his side, Roman Reigns has a greater chance of defeating Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam. But that would make things uneven, so, of course, Luke Harper came into play as the fourth man in the match.

Luke Harper became a part of the rivalry when he helped his former master at Battleground last month, leading to a pinfall victory of Wyatt over Reigns. Dean Ambrose had already been a part of the feud between Reigns and Wyatt before Battleground, and when Harper struck, Ambrose was loyal to his “brother” from the Shield, Roman Reigns.

I take the Lunatic Fringe and the Powerhouse destroying the twisted minds of the Wyatt Family.

MATCH RESULT: ROMAN REIGNS and DEAN AMBROSE DEF BRAY WYATT and LUKE HARPER by DQ

4. Team BAD vs Team Bella vs Team PCB

The Diva Revolution, as Stephanie McMahon calls it, has been nothing more than a disgrace. I believe that the idea was good, and Stephanie had a good heart going into the idea, but it was a bad storyline from the start.

I don’t really care one way or another about this match, but I’ll call it as I see it. Team Bella will win.

MATCH RESULT: TEAM BELLA DEF TEAM BAD and TEAM PCB by pinfall

5. Prime Time Players vs Lucha Dragons vs New Day vs Los Matadores

Plain and simple: New Day Sucks, Prime Time Players have a 25% chance of retaining the titles, and Los Matadores have a little bull. And don’t get me started on the Lucha Dragons.

The Lucha Dragons, I must admit, are my favorite tag team as of late. With their high flying talents, and seemingly unbridled charisma, I can’t see why the Lucha Dragons wouldn’t be on a roll as of the past few months. And they have the WWE Universe on their side.

MATCH RESULT: LUCHA DRAGONS DEF PRIME TIME PLAYERS, LOS MATADORES, and NEW DAY by pinfall and become WWE Tag Team Champions

6. Stephen Amell and Neville vs Stardust and King Barrett

The battles between Stardust and Neville have been, well, bizarre. The quirky feud between Stardust and Stephen Amell is, well, absolutely insane.

At first, I believed that the match at SummerSlam would be a singles match between Stardust and Amell, but the only reason that Neville and King Barrett are included in this tag team match, is because Stardust attacked Neville after his match with Barrett, and then proceeded to punch Amell in the face.

Amell, who was sitting at ringside at the time, then jumped into the ring and started to brawl with Stardust.

Even though I have never watched the show, and know absolutely nothing about Stephen Amell, I take the Emerald Arrow and the Red Arrow to defeat the Bizarre One, Stardust, and the idiotic King Barrett.

MATCH RESULT: NEVILLE and STEPHEN AMELL DEF STARDUST and KING BARRETT by pinfall

7. Ryback vs Big Show vs The Miz

No need for explanation concerning the fate of Miz here. But we DO require discussion on the situation between Ryback and the Big Show.

Ryback had been out with a staff infection in his right knee for about a month. This match had originally been scheduled for Battleground, but was switched to SummerSlam because of Ryback’s illness.

When it comes to a battle of size, the Big Show wins easily. Same thing in a match between weight classes. But when it comes to a battle of strength and willpower, the Big Guy can do it

Ryback has shown on multiple occasions that he can, and will, Shell Shock the Big Show, and with absolute ease. Therefore I will take my man Ryback to retain the title.

MATCH RESULT: RYBACK DEF BIG SHOW and MIZ by pinfall

8. Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker

All I can say is Oh My GOD!!! The Beast vs the Deadman!!!

It was such an incredible scene last month on RAW, when the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar went at it, resulting in both of them being arrested and brought out of the arena. And now, this coming Monday, the two will be in the same arena at the same time, for a contract signing for their Main Event match at SummerSlam.

Although Brock Lesnar is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, and the fact that he is much younger than the Undertaker, I strongly believe that the Undertaker will prevail at the Biggest Party of the Summer, and will take home the revenge that he has been looking to taste ever since April 6, 2014, at WrestleMania 30.

UNDERTAKER DEF BROCK LESNAR by pinfall
