Welcome to this week’s edition of Wrestling Whispers.
It’s been a hectic week for wrestling. The coronavirus has led to the cancellation of many wrestling events, and today we’ll look at what steps AEW and WWE are taking moving forward.
AEW Continues with Show
AEW’s upcoming shows for we’re set to take place in Rochester, NY and Newark, NJ. But now the shows have been postponed to a later date.
AEW still plans to have their live shows on Wednesday with the events taking place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL.
The company has also told their wrestlers that they’re under no pressure to work the shows, and it will not affect their push.
WWE Performance Center shows
This past Friday, WWE held their SmackDown show at their Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
This week’s upcoming episode of RAW will also be moved to the Performance Center.
WrestleMania Plans
While SmackDown and RAW are being moved to the Performance Center, there’s still the question of the status of WrestleMania.
No official word has been given on whether WrestleMania will go on. The city of Tampa reportedly left the decision up to WWE, but with the pandemic spreading, many cities are shutting down the stadiums.
Even though WWE may want to continue with the event, they’ll have no choice in the matter.
With WrestleMania facing the possibility of being cancelled, WWE is supposedly working on a contingency plan.
