AEW Talent Frustrated By Lack Of Communication Backstage

As we reported earlier today here on eWn, Jonathan Gresham has requested his release from Ring of Honor after “cussing out” AEW President Tony Khan at last night’s ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event.

The original report from Fightful noted that Gresham felt disrespected by a lack of communication between himself and the company. He also had issues over the amount of time the ROH World Championship match was given. Just recently, Gresham said he hadn’t spoken with Tony Khan much and did not know how he felt about him.

The feeling from Gresham’s side is that he is “done with wrestling for the foreseeable future after this month.” As of this writing, Tony Khan and ROH have not addressed the reports. Additionally, there is no word on if Gresham has been granted his release.

The reason Gresham came out without his regular entrance gear is because he wanted to be himself and see things clearly for what could possibly be his final match. Immediately following the match, Gresham grabbed his bags and left the venue.

Finally, Gresham isn’t the first person to become frustrated with the lack of communication in AEW/ROH. Some talents whose contracts were not renewed, including Marko Stunt, Joey Janela, and Brian Cage have all openly stated there is a serious lack of communication within the company.
