As most may know, there is a good chance that NJPW star Jay White could really be leaving the company, as he teased his departure in a new promo. While it was done in character, White is said to be 50/50 on leaving or staying. As of now, WWE has made him a strong offer to jump ship.
On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claims that Jay White told AEW prior to the company debuting that he could not sign with them at the time due to having a seven year deal with NJPW in late 2018. If this statement is believed to be true, that would mean White still has several years remaining on his NJPW deal before it expires. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen and it would seem that perhaps White did not sign a seven year contract with the company after all.
