WWE is said to be “marveled” at the progress made at this past weekend’s Elimination Chamber event, which featured three women’s matches.

Last Saturday’s event marked the first time three matches had been on the card for one of WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia.

Pwinsider noted that those within the company were marveled by what happened, and the response the women’s Superstars received in the country.

When WWE began their decade-long deal with Saudi Arabia, women were not allowed to appear or compete, and when they were later allowed to wrestle, they did so wearing oversized shirts.

Last Saturday’s event saw a total of 12 women compete, each wearing bodysuits that adhered to local laws while still bearing resemblance to their usual attire.

On the show, Ronda Rousey and Naomi defeated Sonya Deville and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, while RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch retained her title against Lita. Bianca Belair won the Women’s Elimination Chamber to earn a RAW Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 38.
