As seen at Sunday’s WWE TLC pay-per-view event at the Target Center in Minnesota, Minneapolis on the WWE Network, WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle returned to in-ring action by teaming up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on Kane, Braun Strowman, The Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus in a 5-on-3 TLC Match.

Angle, Rollins, and Ambrose ended up winning the match. PWinsider.com is reporting that the idea behind Angle returning to in-ring action as first proposed internally on Thursday when WWE realized that Reigns was not going to be able to compete as he had been pulled for illness. It turns out that Vince McMahon came up with the idea to add Angle to the match.

Angle had been previously checked out by WWE when he was initially brought back to the sports entertainment company earlier this year. He was then given a physical on Friday in Pittsburgh to make sure he was medically fit to compete at the PPV.

Once WWE was informed that Angle was cleared then that is when they made their official announcement. It was noted that it was “down to the wire” announcement.

In regards to his in-ring future, it was reported that Angle being in the ring was just a one time attraction, the door is wide open for more going forward.
