UPDATE: It is now confirmed that Chris DeJoseph was released from WWE on Friday. According to Pwinsider, DeJoseph was at the WWE SmackDown TV tapings earlier this week and had even received a promotion within the last week or so. The release isn’t related to any of the COVID-19-inspired cutbacks so something else went down. We hope to have more shortly.

ORIGINAL: According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE SmackDown writer Christopher DeJoseph has been released from WWE. DeJoseph had been working as the lead writer on SmackDown under Executive Director Bruce Prichard.

As of this writing, there is no word on why DeJoseph was let go. DeJoseph made his return to WWE in December starting with TLC. Many casual fans know him by his on-screen character – Big Dick Johnson.
