According to sources, the reason WWE decided to pass on signing Io Shirai was due to an issue they found with her heart during medical testing. There were previous reports that it was due to her back, but that is not the case.
Shirai has been cleared by doctors in Japan for both her neck and heart issues, but WWE’s doctors won’t clear her and that’s why the company passed on her.
