Reno Scum brought the GFW tag-team titles with them at Thursday night’s TNA iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings. For those wondering, the GFW titles will be recognized as a different company.
In an update on Alberto El Patron’s contract with TNA Wrestling, the deal wasn’t finalized until late on Wednesday. El Patron then flew in to Orlando, FL and won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship less than 24 hours later. The storyline and title win was actually first planned for Drew Galloway and then Bubba Ray Dudley/Bully Ray but Galloway decided to leave the company and Bully Ray couldn’t come to terms on a contract with the company. The controversy over Patron’s World Heavyweight Title win was addressed during Friday night’s TNA iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings.
Anthem Vice President Ed Nordholm held a meeting with the entire TNA roster prior to Thursday night’s TNA iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings. Nordholm told them about the company’s new UK TV deal with Spike and also discussed the major changes in store for the company. The meeting was said to have been a positive one.
It is now confirmed that Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel are now in charge of TNA’s creative team. While John Gaburick was open to suggestions when he was in charge, it’s believed that Jarrett and Mantel are going to take an “old school” approach in the creative direction. Once they set up their vision they plan on sticking with it with no room for changing ideas.
