Grammy-award-winning performer Bad Bunny is to play Spider-Man character El Muerto in an upcoming film from MARVEL.
Bunny has had a series of appearances for WWE over the past two years, including a tag-team victory at WrestleMania 37 and as one of the 30 entrants in this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble.
El Muerto, aka Juan Carlos, is a superpowered wrestler who first faced Spider-Man in a charity wrestling bout.
After nearly unmasking the web slinger before being stung with a paralyzing poison by Spider-Man, the two later teamed up to defeat the tyrant El Dorado.
El Muerto will be the first Latin superhero in the Marvel universe to earn his own film.
Bunny is set to make his film debut in the upcoming ‘Bullet Train,’ which will release on July 29.
