Big E Discusses Understanding How “People Like Us Will Only Get So Far” in WWE

Big E has posted an interesting video on his official Twitter account where he talks about he now understands “people like us” will only get so far in WWE.

This comes after this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Indianapolis, IN at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on the USA Network that saw Kofi Kingston beat Rowan, The Bar, Samoa Joe, and Randy Orton in a gauntlet match only to have Vince McMahon add Daniel Bryan to the mix in order to prevent Kingston from earning the right to challenge for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35.

Here is an excerpt from the video, courtesy of Pro Wrestling Sheet:

You think of this business, to some degree, being a meritocracy,” he said before mentioning all the ways wrestlers put effort into bettering themselves.  “You do everything that’s asked of you in this business – that if you do all those things you have a good chance of making it to the top,” he added.

“But now we understand the game. We see what the game is — that people like us will only get so far,” he continued. “That you can climb the mountain. They’ll let you climb the mountain, but as far as getting to the peak and staying at the peak – it’s not a thing that people like us, historically and moving forward clearly, can only get so far.”
