WWE NXT Preview For Tonight (4/1/2020)
During the opening segment of Wednesday night’s WWE NXT broadcast, Johnny Gargano spun his “Wheel of Challengers” to determine his mystery opponent. The wheel landed on Leon Ruff and he actually wound up winning the match and the North American Championship. Damien Priest was at ringside and distracted Gargano, which allowed Ruff to pick up the win.
This marks Ruff’s first title win since he signed with WWE in July of this year. He had previously worked for the EVOLVE promotion and did some enhancement talent work for WWE in the past.
For what it’s worth, Gargano’s “Wheel of Challengers” had Pete Dunne, Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Roderick Strong, Cameron Grimes, Tommaso Ciampa, Santos Escobar, Adam Cole, The Velveteen Dream, Kyle O’Reilly, Kushida, Austin Theory, and Timothy Thatcher earlier in the day. When Gargano came out, Theory’s name had been written over and Ruff’s name replaced him.
