As expected, CM Punk made his debut with AEW on this week’s episode of “Rampage”. The show opened with the crowd already chanting “CM Punk.” That’s when Punk’s “Cult Of Personality” theme music hit and he came to the ring to a MASSIVE pop.

Punk noted that he didn’t plan anything out for his promo because he wanted to feel out the crowd and didn’t know how they’d react after not seeing him for seven years.

Punk said he had a lot to say and wouldn’t be able to get it all out tonight. But he’s got Wednesdays (Dynamite), Fridays (Rampage), and four pay-per-view events a year and he’s not going anywhere.

CM Punk then sat down in the middle of the ring in the same style he did when he cut his “pipe bomb” promo in WWE. He talked about his time in Ring of Honor and making it a place where people could come and enjoy “professional wrestling.”

He said on August 13th, 2005, he left professional wrestling. On August 20th, 2021 (today), he’s back. Clearly, he skipped his entire time in WWE. He said he’s back because there’s a ton of young talent in AEW and he wants to work with them.

Punk then went on to call out Darby Allin, saying he’s the first on the list because Allin is a daredevil and he loves it. CM Punk then confirmed that he’ll be facing Allin at All Out on September 5th in Chicago, IL. He ended the promo by saying “he’s back” and told the crowd to “grab a free ice cream bar on me” on the way out of the United Center later tonight. And yes, there are free ice cream bars waiting for all of the fans as they exit the arena.
