The word coming from Dave Meltzer’s daily update is that DirecTV has decided to drop WWE pay-per-views. There is nothing else to report right now but we hope to have an update later tonight or tomorrow.
This is a huge blow to WWE since there is a large chunk of their audience that still orders through traditional pay-per-view and has still not gotten on board with the WWE Network. Perhaps DirecTV decided to cut ties after WWE offered the WWE Network free trial again essentially giving away WrestleMania for free to new subscribers.
