During Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite, a new AEW World Champion was crowned after Impact Wrestling executive Don Callis got involved during the Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley main event. There is obviously some sort of working relationship between AEW and Impact Wrestling and Kenny Omega will be appearing on next week’s episode of Impact. Omega defeated Moxley after he hit him with a microphone that Don Callis threw into the ring.
Callis was doing commentary for the match and following the microphone spot and pin, Callis grabbed Omega and took him to a waiting car in the parking lot. As the show ended, he said the world will find out what this means for Omega on next Tuesday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV.
This marks Omega’s first run with the AEW World Title. Moxley’s reign ends at 277 days.
