UPDATE: In an update to our earlier report, the man who was arrested for attacking Bret Hart during Saturday night’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony was still in jail on Monday. He may remain in jail until his hearing takes place at the end of this week.

Zachary Madsen is currently behind held at Brooklyn Detention Complex, as no one has paid his $750 bail or $1,500 bond to get him released.

For what it’s worth, Madsen has been provided a public defender and is set for a hearing in his case this coming Friday (unless he’s bailed/bonded out before then). He has been charged with two counts of assault and trespassing.

There is no word on how he gave a statement to ABC News earlier today unless he called them from jail, which is very possible.

ORIGINAL: Bret Hart was attacked by a fan during his speech at Friday’s 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

The attacker was revealed to be Zach Madsen, who was charged with assault and criminal trespassing for the incident.

According to the New York Post, he was held on $1,500 bond and gave his first comments about why he did it while in court on Sunday.

“I just felt like it was the right moment.”
