On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray shared his thoughts on why the crowd was cheering Charlotte Flair over Ronda Rousey after their match at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center on the WWE Network. He thinks it had more to do with Becky Lynch than Charlotte or Ronda. Here is what he had to say:
“This was all because of Becky,” Ray said (H/T to WrestlingNews.co). “Here’s a positive to last night. Despite the fact that WWE made you forget about Becky last night, Becky made sure that you didn’t forget about her. And you could see it by the way the people were vicariously living through Charlotte. About a month ago everyone was like “Why does Charlotte have to always win? Why does Charlotte have to always win? Oh! She’s the daughter of Ric Flair!” Blah, blah, blah.
“Well, how come everybody loved her last night? Because she was Becky’s girl. Becky got Charlotte over last night. Now, when I say that I don’t mean it like, Becky did the work. But the hug and the endorsement is what got those people behind Charlotte, because if Becky says it’s okay to love Charlotte, then we’ll love Charlotte all over again.”
"What Charlotte did last night should have got her booed out of the building. It was the exact opposite, and it was because of @BeckyLynchWWE" – @bullyray5150 on @MsCharlotteWWE vicious attack on @RondaRousey last night at #SurvivorSeries pic.twitter.com/M0v03LbYCR
