AEW star CM Punk’s name was trending this week due to his response to the reports of plans to overturn the Roe V. Wade legislation.
Roe V. Wade guaranteed all U.S. citizens the right to abortions, but recent leaks from Politico have revealed there are plans to overturn this.
Punk appeared on the December 15, 2021 AEW Dynamite, wearing a shirt depicting a woman’s uterus with the writing “get your own then tell it what to do.”
When a fan asked Punk “Are you going to cry little b*tch?”, Punk’s response went viral, as it reads:
“A little bit, yeah. For my wife, my sisters, for mothers and women who are helplessly watching their rights over their own bodies stripped away by elite, rich, white, terrorist religious fascists. Being human means I cry when injustices masquerade as religious right. HER BODY, HER CHOICE.”
When another fan told him not to speak about politics, Punk made it clear he won’t, responding “Unfollow me. We respect women here.”
Punk shared the conversation with the fan on social media, as well as several more positive responses to his pro-choice stance, and was trending on Twitter shortly after.
