In a recent interview with BT Sport, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre talked about their most recent feud in WWE. The pair also revealed that they wanted their feud to end at WrestleMania 37, instead of culminating at FastLane.

Sheamus first commented on the matter saying:

“We really were hoping this was gonna be WrestleMania. That’s where we felt the feud should, you know, basically climax, you know? Should come to an end at WrestleMania. And I fought as hard as I could, we both did, kinda to make that happen. But you do what you can do, you know?”

McIntyre would then add that though it was a disappointment for the feud to not continue to WrestleMania, he hopes they do it again.

“If you watch the pre-match video, it was WrestleMania-worthy. Just, the story that we have, the real story. And we can come back around, and there’s next year’s WrestleMania. You know, we get the fans back, it’ll be new again. But it certainly was a disappointment.”

Instead of facing off against each other, Drew McIntyre would instead lose to WWE Champion Bobby Lashley on the show opener for Night One of ‘Mania 37. Meanwhile, Sheamus would capture the United States Championship from Riddle on Night Two.
