Freddie Prinze Jr. Wants Former WWE Talent For His Wrestling Promotion

Former WWE writer and actor Freddie Prinze Jr. has stated that he plans on creating his own wrestling promotion. He wants it to be a SAG show, which would allow every wrestler involved to be part of the Screen Actors Guild and thus be entitled to health insurance. While Prinze Jr. hasn’t given any details since he originally opened up about the idea, he recently hinted that he has his eye on a former WWE talent.

While speaking on his “Wrestling With Freddie” podcast, Prinze Jr. discussed a meeting with Killer Kross regarding his potential to be one of the signings. He revealed that he was introduced to Kross during a Facetime chat with John Morison. Prinze Jr. “popped big” once he was shown what Kross looked like and made it clear that Kross was “definitely a cat that [he] likes.” He said,

“I was like, ‘Dude, oh, what’s up, man? You and your girl are like the satanic, super hot Macho Man and Elizabeth‘ … I said, ‘Man, I love what you guys are doing over there, for real.’ So that’s when he and I first met. So as soon as he was gone, he was one of the first guys that I reached out to. I said, ‘Hey man, whatever you sign, make sure the contract is up in about a year-and-a-half.’

Kross was let go from his WWE contract with his fiancé Scarlett Bordeaux in November. He has since returned to Major League Wrestling and debuted in NJPW, losing to Minoru Suzuki. Freddie Prinze Jr. has stated that he wants the storylines in his promotion to be based on reality and for it to be a two-hour show. There is currently no launch date yet.
