GameChanger Wrestling (GCW) filed to oppose the trademark AEW Fight Forever on March 1. This is the name of AEW’s upcoming video game.
On Friday, GCW requested a 90-day extension of time to formally oppose, which the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted the following day.
GCW’s opposition appeal notes that they are asking for 90 days to investigate and confer with the council. The document stated that GCW is currently “engaged in settlement discussions with the applicant,” referring to AEW.
It should be noted that GCW filed their trademark for the Fight Forever name last year, just a few months before AEW filed for it. GameChanger Wrestling also held a show in January of 2021 called Fight Forever.
