At Sunday’s NJPW Dominion event, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Hirooki Goto in an Interim AEW World Championship Eliminator Series match.
The interim title was created because CM Punk had to get surgery to fix a foot injury and will be sidelined.
AEW’s Jon Moxley already advanced after beating Kyle O’Reilly on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Now, Moxley and Tanahashi will meet in the finals at the June 26th Forbidden Door pay-per-view event.
